The Department of English Language and Literature aims at preparing students who are imbibed with the knowledge of language and critical literary approaches to enable them to apply their acquired knowledge to practical situations, which in turn will help them to connect with their society and contribute in its development. As a result of such training will be responsible citizens, employees, and entrepreneurs.
Department of Language and Literature, English focuses on:
- Research oriented and career driven courses. Areas like Linguistics, ELT, Creative Writing, and Film Studies and so on, are given special attention keeping in mind the employability of the students in diverse sectors. In addition, French is offered as a non-credit course, catering to students across departments of the School of Liberal Arts and Culture Studies.
- Synchronous learning experience – combination of situated learning and technology enabled learning. Students also learn through several activities like performance, projects, team work, sports, making short-films, recording video and audio lectures and so on.
