Words and Bodies: Texts, Performances, Intersections, Interactions
The workshop was conducted for three days with the solo performance by the multimedia artist-scholar Shruti Ghosh of the celebrated short story “Khol Do,” by the renowned Urdu writer Sadaat Hossain Manto. The performance was accompanied by a two and a half day long workshop that Ms. Ghosh conducted with the students of the Department of English Language and Literature, eventually culminating in a student-led performance on the theme of the Partition of India, focusing on Urdu short story writer Ismat Chughtai’s short story “Roots.”
