The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (History), School of Liberal Arts and Culture Studies, Adamas University, Kolkata, organised a One-day Industrial Visit to the Indian Museum, Kolkata, on 20th February 2025. The visit was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Suranjan Das, Vice-Chancellor, Adamas University, and with the generous support of Dr. Sayan Bhattacharya, Honorable Director, Indian Museum, Kolkata.
More than 25 students and faculty members actively participated in the academic tour. The programme provided valuable hands-on training in museology, collection management, and digital archiving practices. Students were exposed to various galleries, archival sections, and conservation processes, enhancing their practical understanding of heritage preservation and museum administration.
The visit was further enriched by a professional tour guide and continuous support from museum officials, who offered detailed explanations and academic insights throughout the trip. Overall, the industrial visit proved to be an enriching experiential learning initiative for all participants.
