An international panel discussion was hosted on 24th February, 2026 (Tuesday) between 10 am and 12 noon at the International Lounge, AU 1. Hosting an eminent foreign scholar from Kobe University, Japan, Yuki Okabe along with two Kolkata based experts on Indo – Japan ties, Dr. Madhuchanda Ghosh, a Fulbright scholar and Assistant Professor at Presidency University and Nidhi Chowdhary, Assistant Professor at Lal Baba College shall engage in a riveting discussion on ‘India-Japan Strategic Alignment in Asian Geopolitical Landscape. Prof. (Dr.) Radha Tamal Goswami, Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Joy Das, Associate Dean of School of Liberal Arts and Culture Studies, Dr. Rajat Ray, Registrar (Acting) and Dean of Student and Cultural Affairs and Dr. Ankita Roy, Director – IAS Division graced the occasion and felicitated the guest speakers. The event was well attended by faculty members and students and reflected the enthusiasm and interest for geopolitics particularly the evolving dynamics of Indo – Japan ties.
